Dinos

Dino Colours

Want a bright pink Rex or a spooky black Raptor? You can paint your own tamed dinos any colour you like — and it’s free! You just look at your dino and type a command in chat.

Three easy steps:

  1. Stand near one of your own tamed dinos. Make sure it’s awake (not asleep or knocked out).
  2. Point the middle of your screen straight at it (like you’re staring right at it).
  3. Type a colour command in chat — you’ll find them all below.

Your dino changes colour straight away! If nothing happens, look right at your dino and try again.

/colour <part> <colour>

This paints one part of your dino.

Try this: look at your Rex and type /colour Body 14. Its body turns colour number 14!

Parts you can paint — use the number or the name:

Number Part
0 Body
1 Face
2 Side
3 Legs
4 Top
5 Under

Colours — pick any number from 1 to 100, or 201 to 226. You can see what every colour looks like on the Colour Chart page.

/colour all <colour>

Want your whole dino one colour? This paints every part at once.

Try this: /colour all 14 turns the entire dino colour 14.

/colour random

Not sure what to pick? This gives your dino random colours! Don’t like it? Type it again for a new look, or use /colour reset to change it back.

/colour preset <name>

Paint your whole dino in a theme with one command:

Theme Type this
Winter /colour preset winter
Summer /colour preset summer
Halloween /colour preset halloween
Christmas /colour preset christmas

Each preset picks a themed mix of colours for the different parts, so every dino comes out on-theme but a little bit different — no two are exactly the same.

/colour copy and /colour paste

Love the colours on one dino? You can copy them onto another!

  1. Look at the dino you like and type /colour copy.
  2. Look at another of your dinos and type /colour paste.

Now they match! Great for making a whole team the same colours.

/colour reset

This puts your dino back to its normal colours — handy if you change your mind.

/colours

Forgotten a command? Type /colours in chat and the game shows you the full list of what you can do, with a link to the colour chart.

/colourstatus

Admins can type /colourstatus to check the plugin is working properly. If players see a message that says colouring is turned off after a game update, an admin needs to run this and update the plugin.

  • Your dino must be awake — you can’t colour one that’s asleep or knocked out (unconscious).
  • You can only paint your own dinos — not other people’s tames.
  • You have to be looking right at the dino, and be close enough.
  • Your colours stay for good — they don’t wash off when you put your dino in a cryopod, when the server restarts, or when you move it to another map.
  • It’s free — you don’t need points, tokens or anything to use it.
