Map Extensions

The official maps on SurviveX PvP aren’t stock. They run the ZUZ Maps Extension Premium (by Cezoq), which adds new caves, bosses, unlockable tech and resources on top of the ARK maps you already know — so even map veterans have new places to find and new engrams to earn.

  • Herbivore Island cave — a large gaping hole has opened in the centre of Herbivore Island’s rock face, in the south-east. Swim down through it and you’ll find a cavern full of gems, harvestable mushrooms, and creatures like Roll Rats and Megalosaurus.
  • Hidden Temple Cave — in the northern Redwoods, along a shallow creek bed near Hidden Lake. Long dark tunnels heavily lined with metal, parkour challenges, and a pit you do not want to fall into.
  • The Broodmother wild boss spawns in the open world at the Green Obelisk. Kill it for 2,500 XP and 20 Element. It respawns every hour.
  • Charcoal trees and charcoal rocks on the slopes of the Volcano, with sulfur nodes at the very top.
  • Organic polymer in a giant crack in the snow biome, north-west corner — plant nodes, best harvested with a Dire Bear.
  • Black pearls underwater beneath the icebergs in the far north-west corner. They can be harvested with a dino (Angler).
  • Silk from purple flower plants on the open plains, west/north-west side.
  • Cactus sap in bushes along the southern beaches near Stonehenge and on the west coast.
  • Hundreds of new metal nodes on Obsidian Mountain and Metal Mountain in the north.
  • Animal carcasses (Archelon, Basilosaurus, Ichthyosaurus) along the south and west coast beaches — oil, hide, chitin and meat.
  • 3 high-quality rock veins in the new caves — place a Rock Extractor on one to farm sparkpowder.
  • 1 Sweet Nest — a public egg incubator built into the world (see below).
  • Waterfall cave — a massive new cave at the bottom of the giant waterfalls in the south-west. Big water source inside, plenty of obsidian and crystal, and its own working oil pump.
  • Ice Palace extension — behind the Ice Ruins (Artifact of the Cunning), a new tunnel leads to a large ruined room where the artifact now lives — guarded by an Alpha Giga.
  • Bear Cave extension — the back wall of the famous Bear Cave build spot is gone, opening into a giant cavern full of beehives (honey) and organic polymer bushes.
  • Sky Lord cave extension — the Artifact of the Sky Lord cave has been made over and extended. Two Megapithecus mini-bosses live in the extension.
  • Prison Ruin — a contaminated ruin in the Redwoods with hidden loot (yes, you dive into the toilet).
  • Rat holes — vertical tunnels with narrow entrances opening into large caverns, made for PvP building. One is big enough for a mega tribe.
  • The Megalodon Boss — the big one. Its summoning terminal is hidden deep in the North Giant Underwater Cavern. Beat it to unlock the Auto-Crafter (Ingredients), Tek Box and Water Vacuum. Full arena rules below.
  • An Alpha Fire Wyvern now spawns as a challenge inside the East Lava Cave.
  • Six wild bosses (Broodmother and Megapithecus) across the new caves — each gives 2,500 XP and 20 Element, respawning every hour.
  • Custom loot crate spots — shipwrecks south-east of the Redwoods and in the deep ocean, the air bubble, a sunken old base near the boss terminal, and the Redwoods Prison Ruin. Most need level 75; the Tek Suit crate needs level 105.
  • Element rocks in the deepest parts of the North Giant Underwater Cavern.
  • A crystal motherload on top of the giant rock pillars opposite Skull Island, and on Skull Island itself.
  • Charcoal rocks on the tall cliffs of Lava Island and the small island north-east of it.
  • New metal in the large cave leading to the mainland and several other spots.
  • A giant oyster full of silica pearls, and you can build on the Border Sea ocean floor.
  • 3 Sweet Nests, 3 high-quality rock veins (Extraction cave), and a Megalodon Boss trophy wall to show off your kill.
  • The Tek Cave — at the Manticore Arena church ruins. A sturdy oak door leads into a long drop-down cave crawling with malfunctioning Tek creatures (Raptors, Rexes and Gigas), with element shards to harvest and a Tek Giga boss at the end. This is the one cave you can’t build in.
  • The Hive (Bug Cave) — a massive new rock formation out in the desert dunes, opposite corner from the Tek Cave. Long tunnels, Rhyniognatha spawns, harvestable beehives, and loot crates scattered inside. The Broodmother guards a hidden terminal at the far end.
  • Gorilla Empire cave — in the south-east dunes. Home of the Megapithecus mini-boss.
  • Megapithecus mini-boss (Gorilla Empire cave) — unlocks the Rock Extractor, Tek Helmet, Tek Shirt, Tek Boots and Tek Crop Plot, plus the Tek Suit engrams the Manticore doesn’t give. 2,500 XP + 200 Element + trophy wall.
  • Experimental Tek Giga (Tek Cave) — unlocks the Auto-Crafter (Ammo), Blueprint Box and Rock Extractor. 2,500 XP + 200 Element + trophy wall. Spawns hourly.
  • Experimental Skeletal Giga — unlocks the Auto-Crafter (Ammo) and Blueprint Box. 2,500 XP + loot drop at the end. No summon delay.
  • Broodmother wild boss (The Hive) — pays double: 2,500 XP and 40 Element, respawning every hour.
  • A high-capacity loot vault in the bottom-left corner of the sand dunes — needs level 105. Plus two official loot crates inside the Insect Cave.
  • Silica pearls at each obelisk — no more ocean map runs just for pearls.
  • Sulfur at both ends of the Wyvern Trench, with orange piles nearby you can harvest for sparkpowder.
  • New metal on the central mountains and the mountains directly above the Wyvern Trench.
  • Cementing paste from Wyvern bone piles in the trench and two skull-and-bones plateaus out in the desert.
  • Element and element dust from pointy tek shards — only inside the Tek Cave.
  • Wyvern and Rock Elemental carcasses to harvest near the new cave entrances.
  • 10 high-quality rock veins — the most of any map, mostly inside The Hive.
  • Mesh-hole and rat-hole patches — known exploit spots are sealed. No new caves or bosses here.

Killing these bosses is how you unlock the mod’s engrams — they can’t be learned any other way.

Boss Where Unlocks Rewards
Megalodon Boss The Center — North Giant Underwater Cavern Auto-Crafter (Ingredients), Tek Box, Water Vacuum 2,500 XP + loot drop at the end
Megapithecus mini-boss Scorched Earth — Gorilla Empire cave Rock Extractor, Tek Helmet, Tek Shirt, Tek Boots, Tek Crop Plot, plus the Tek Suit engrams the Manticore doesn’t give 2,500 XP + 200 Element + trophy wall
Experimental Tek Giga Scorched Earth — Tek Cave Auto-Crafter (Ammo), Blueprint Box, Rock Extractor 2,500 XP + 200 Element + trophy wall
Experimental Skeletal Giga Scorched Earth Auto-Crafter (Ammo), Blueprint Box 2,500 XP + loot drop at the end
Wild bosses (Broodmother / Megapithecus) Island — Green Obelisk; Center — new caves ×6; SE — The Hive 2,500 XP + 20 Element (SE Broodmother gives 40)

The Center’s Megalodon Boss terminal is hidden deep in the North Giant Underwater Cavern, and the arena has rules:

  • You can teleport any dino into the arena — except water dinos. Yes, really: no water dinos in the underwater boss fight, so plan around it.
  • Maximum 10 players and 10 dinos per fight.
  • Cryopods work inside the arena, so you can bring your team in pods.
  • After a fight there’s a 15-minute timer before the boss can be summoned again.

Once you’ve unlocked the engrams from the bosses, you craft these in your inventory:

Two versions: Ammo and Ingredients (advanced chemistry like gunpowder). Place one on a foundation and power it with a Tek Generator. Fill it with resources, pick which of your unlocked engrams to craft, and it keeps crafting until the resources run out. Each holds up to 1,000 stacks. You can only craft engrams you’ve already learned.

Craft four styles of box — armour, weapons, saddles and Tek. Each box filters for its own type: stand in front, hit Transfer All, and only the matching blueprints go in. 250 slots each.

Craft two models — one for Flak armour, one for Tek Suits. Stock it with armour, then just press E in front of it to auto-equip a full set. It also filters armour on Transfer All. 1,000 slots.

Craft three models: two that only accept artifacts and trophies on Transfer All, and one that only accepts structures. 250 slots each.

Place it on a high-quality rock vein (found in the new caves) and it generates sparkpowder for you over time. Veins: The Island ×3, The Center ×3, Scorched Earth ×10.

Unlocked from the Megalodon Boss.

A world structure that works like an egg incubator anyone can use — it’s built into the map, not something you place. The Island has 1, The Center has 3. Holds 20 eggs.

The custom loot crates spawn on fixed, always-visible objects — vaults, shipwrecks, chests. The object is always there; the crate isn’t. You have to get up close to see whether a crate has actually spawned this time.

Spot Map Level needed Where it is
Shasta wreck (2 chests + vault) The Center 75 Deep ocean
Shipwreck 1 (chest + vault) The Center 75 South-east of the Redwoods
Shipwreck 2 (chest + vault) The Center 75 Deep ocean
Extraction cave The Center 75 Inside the Extraction cave
Air bubble The Center 75 East ocean
Tek Suit crate The Center 105
Prison Ruin The Center 75 The Redwoods
Desert vault Scorched Earth 105 Bottom-left corner of the sand dunes
The Hive crates Scorched Earth Scattered inside The Hive
Insect Cave (2 official crates) Scorched Earth Inside the Insect Cave

Because we’re a PvP cluster, you can build inside all of the new caves except the Tek Cave on Scorched Earth. The Hive, Gorilla Empire, the waterfall cave, the rat holes, both Island caves — all buildable. Cave bases are strong here; use them.

  • Transfer All works while standing in front of storage — you don’t need to open every box.
  • If a Sweet Nest respawns while your eggs are inside, you don’t lose them — they’re still in the first structure’s inventory; you may need to click around the UI to reach it.
  • Bosses drop their rewards as custom loot at the end of the fight — don’t leave the arena before grabbing it.
